BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — It's a step towards improving the health of Buffalo.

An organization called Reach is pushing a new policy, asking businesses to extend smoking areas 25 feet from doorways.

The goal is to eliminate second hand smoke exposure.

Businesses at East Utica and Main Street are already on board.

They've launched this initiative because of health disparities within the African American community.

The group is also encouraging businesses to limit tobacco advertising, especially anything at a child's eye level.
