BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Earlier this week Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown announced plans for a citywide salute to veterans and healthcare workers during Memorial Day Weekend.
“There’s no better way to show our appreciation for our service men and women, as well as our area’s healthcare workers, than by hosting 'Stand Out to Salute' this Memorial Day weekend," Mayor Brown said when the plans were announced.
'Stand Out to Salute' was set to be a citywide fireworks display for families to enjoy from their homes with fireworks being shot off from sites located on the east, west, north and south sides of the city.
Saturday a City of Buffalo spokesperson announced due to logistical issues and other concerns the event has been postponed. The sponsors hope to do something later in the summer.
