BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting at the intersection of Lonsdale and Northland in Buffalo.
This took place around 10:40 Sunday night. They say one male suspect has been taken to ECMC.
Our reporter at the scene saw one male being taken into custody at the scene. Buffalo Police releasing more information Monday morning.
Police say it happened during the course of that traffic stop. The driver is a 30 year old Buffalo male. Police report he had exited the vehicle and "some type of altercation ensued with the officers, resulting in the suspect being shot."
According to police, he was immediately taken to ECMC with non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released.
Police said they also recovered a gun they believed the suspect had been in possession, was recovered at the scene.
The suspect is currently in custody on a separate parole violation and charges are pending in Sunday night's incident.
Buffalo police Homicide and Internal Affairs as well as the Erie County District Attorney’s Office are investigating this incident.
