BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — With the COVID-19 pandemic, many organizations have had to get creative, including Buffalo Prep's annual "Celebration of Achievement." The event has moved online for this year.

The virtual celebration runs for 51 hours on Buffalo Prep's website and social media to recognize 51 senior scholars, representing their class of 2020.

It began Wednesday evening and runs until Friday, May 15 at 9 p.m.

To help kick off the event, Buffalo Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes and cornerback Levi Wallace spoke with some Buffalo Prep students about overcoming adversity and achieving success.

"I wanted to be here for them, and you know, give them as much wisdom as I can," says Hughes.

"You have to define what success is to you, first and foremost, and, it's different for everyone, the keys are different, it just depends on what you really want out of your life," says Wallace.

Anyone can donate or participate in the raffle by visiting the website here.

7 Eyewitness News anchor Ashley Rowe served as event emcee.
