LANACASTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — People living in the Lancaster Commons Senior Apartments are getting some help from the Broadway Market as they prepare for Easter.

Normally, many of the seniors would use this time of year to visit the Broadway Market to purchase traditional Polish Easter foods.

The Broadway Market is still open Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m and practicing all safety precautions, including social distancing.

However, many seniors are nervous about going out during the covid-19 pandemic.

To help the seniors at Lancaster Commons, Broadway Market vendors "Babcia's Pierogi" and "We R Nuts" arranged to work with several other market vendors to deliver products to the Lancaster seniors.

Mary Pat Borgese, Lancaster Commons' property manager, said the seniors were "thrilled" to be able to support the market - a place many of them travel to for the Easter Season.

“This connection is part of our efforts to keep our residents healthy and it supports the Market which is so important; considering this is their busiest time of the year. It’s definitely a win-win and we all could use a ‘win’ these days!,” said Borgese.
