CLARENCE, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Clarence farm is offering a free destination for parents looking for a way for their kids to enjoy spring while following social distancing guidelines.

Kelkenberg Farm is welcoming families to a "drive through farm tour" on Friday May 22 through Sunday May 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The tour is free, and it allows kids to see animals like horses, goats and chickens.

Charlene Spoth is the farm's owner, and says they're just doing what they've always done.

"If you know our farm you know that farm tours, and getting up close and personal with the animals, and learning about edcuation are what we do," she said. "So we were trying to figure out how we could do that."

Families are welcome to roll down their window to get some fresh farm air, but the farm asks that attendees remain in their cars at all times. Farm facilities, including restrooms, will not be open.

With many people cooped up inside, Spoth figured why not get out and visit the chicken coop.

"We wanted to do something safe, fun, something they could look forward to, something they could smile about," she said.

The farm held a similar event in early April that was so well received that they decided on holding another one.
