BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Western New York is continuing to reopen during the COVID-19 pandemic, but our neighbors dealing with unemployment, underemployment and food insecurity still need our help.
FeedMore WNY is working every day to make sure 135,000 people in WNY have access to nutritious food. The need will continue for months to come, but the City of Good Neighbors will continue to help.
Since launching the #BuffaloStrong shirt campaign with Retro Buffalo in March, Western New Yorkers have helped to raise tens of thousands of dollars for FeedMore WNY.
Day of Giving
On July 7, 7 Eyewitness News is renewing its push to help FeedMore WNY continue its critical service with a Day of Giving.
We're inviting the City of Good Neighbors and all of Western New York to pitch in through in-person food drives and online donations. To get started, WKBW is calling on the community to match a $12,000 Buffalo Strong commitment to FeedMore WNY. Together, we can double that donation.
Two food drive locations will be available on 7/7.
Dash's Market
1770 Hertel Ave.
Buffalo
9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Hamburg Fairgrounds
5820 South Park Avenue
Hamburg
4 p.m - 7 p.m.
We know the community is struggling with the financial effects of COVID-19. There's a way for everyone to help:
- #Give7 dollars to FeedMore WNY
- #Give7 hours of your time by volunteering with FeedMore WNY
- Make an on-site donation at a food drive location
- Participate in FeedMore WNY's virtual food drive
- Pick up a Buffalo Strong shirt, $7 (all proceeds) will go to FeedMore WNY
- Spread the word on social media using #BuffaloStrong and #Give7
Throughout July 7, the 7 Eyewitness News team will be profiling the work of FeedMore WNY and its volunteers and reporting live from local food drives.
On 7/7, you can make a difference! No amount of money or time is too small, everyone's contribution is meaningful on Day of Giving.
