BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Nothing says spring quite like the smell of fresh cut grass... But it also means there’s one more chore to get done.
One lawn mowing service -- Plowz and Mowz is offering free lawn mows to frontline workers.
Wills Mahoney calls his company is the “Uber for mowing lawns and plowing driveways.”
When the pandemic hit they wanted to do something to help these workers have one less thing to worry about.
“We saw these healthcare workers working crazy hours, we said let’s take something off their to-do list and offer a free lawn mow," Mahoney said.
Plowz and Mowz works with 150 landscaping companies in Buffalo. Frontline workers can enter the code"hero" during checkout on their app and can get $60 worth of lawn mowing for free.
Mahoney says Plowz and Mowz has given 2,500 free lawn mows across the country so far and hopes to continue getting the yardwork done.
