NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — A regular customer's donation of $1,000 started a chain reaction in North Tonawanda. Witter's owners Peter and Shelley Witt's first thought was NT's first responders.

"Couldn't be happier about it," North Tonawanda fire chief Joe Sikora said. "It goes a long way knowing that we have the support from the community in doing what we're doing right now."

Community has been a focal point for Witter's. Peter and Shelley have called North Tonawanda home for their entire lives. They're also paying forward tips to Glory be to Kids.

"Everyone's kind of a small knit community. We're a local bar on Oliver Street," Peter Witt said. "You know, we know a lot of people. We've been doing this for 12 years now."

Witter's is also still open for takeout Monday through Thursday from 11-7 and on Friday from 11-8.
