BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — All this week, there's a virtual conference focusing on supporting and celebrating WNY's freelance business community.

With speeches talking about all aspects of business, freelancers are coming together to share advice, ideas, and information.

Buffalo is joining other cities like Austin, Texas, Miami, Florida, and Tampa, Florida to host speakers and workshops for people looking to work for themselves.

“Someone who works by themselves for themselves deliberately for a very specific reason to build a brand or a company," Marie Domon, Freelance Business Week Buffalo Organizer.

Domon says more than 300 people in Buffalo have signed up. She is a freelancer herself and is the owner of Convergence Coworking in Hamburg. Domon says having different cities come together for a virtual conference allows for all sorts of different ideas and people to come together. The theme for this year is Diversity and Inclusion.

“We didn’t want to cancel our event because it was hard, especially working for yourself you have to work so much harder," Domon said.
