CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Over the past few days, Lisa Ciavarella has been taking pictures of the drive-thru line of the Dairy Queen on French Road in Cheektowaga.

Each day since Saturday, she’s recorded the line spill out on to the road and past a neighborhood street, Theresa Drive.

“My concern is that people cannot see when they're trying to make turns out of this neighborhood. And my concern is that someone is either going to get t-boned when they try to make a left hand turn or they're going to be rear ended when they try to make a right hand turn,” said Caivarella.

The problem wouldn't go away with Phase 3 allowing the Dairy Queen being allowed to offer dine-in service. According to an employee at the Dairy Queen, the restaurant won't be open for dine-in service on Tuesday.

Ciavarella called the town, the county, and the state trying to find a solution the problem. After getting a little bit of the run around, she found some help with the Town of Cheektowaga. A town code enforcement officer said the town is going to work with the Dairy Queen to move where the line forms off of French to nearby Kelly Drive.
