BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — You better not shout, cry or pout because Santa Claus is coming to WNY tonight. He says he’s ready to slide down each and every chimney and how do we know? We scored a 1-on-1 interview with the big guy.

“We’re getting ready for Christmas, the elves are wrapping the presents, Mrs. Claus is finishing the cookies and I’m here in Buffalo chimney inspecting, I think I broke a few chimneys last year,” said Mr. Claus.

Straight down to business: who’s naughty and who’s nice this year?

“Before I left the north pole I looked into the book of good boys and girls and everybody in WNY is on the good list this year!" said Santa.

How do you prepare for the big day?

"Believe it or not I eat cookies before I leave the north pole and orange juice, I leave the milk for the houses and it keeps me going all night long!" said Santa.

How will Santa deal with Lake Effect Snow?

“Snow is good for me, it beats sand in Florida, let me tell you that!” said Santa.

But how does Santa deal with COVID-19?

"Well you can’t get more social distanced than the north pole, so we’re all safe up there,” said Santa.

For anyone out there who’s had a tough year, what's Santa's message of holiday cheer?

"It’s easy to lose your way, but look deep into your heart and that Christmas magic will be there and the love of Christmas is still there, it’s never gone away,” said Santa.

We all need a little Christmas magic and Santa is ready to bring it here to WNY.
