BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A COVID-19 report card for each school in New York State. That's what Governor Andrew Cuomo says each district will be required to submit to the state.

With the start of school comes more data, and more assignments as it relates to COVID-19 in New York State.

"Every school district will report to the Department of Health every day," Cuomo said.

Cuomo says the data will include how many tests were taken in the school, how many people tested positive and other statistics parents need to know.

This comes as students across the state are heading back to the classroom, some just a couple of days, some fully remote.

"It certainly adds more to our plate to manage," said Niagara Falls School Superintendent Mark Laurrie. "These are things that should be left to the Department of Health."

Cuomo says not only will the district report the statistics but also the lab and the health department to make sure everyone is on the same page.

These numbers will be posted here every day.
