Crews rescue man from 2-alarm fire in Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — Buffalo firefighters rescued a man from a two-alarm house fire Saturday night, according to officials.

Fire crews were called to the fire at a home in the 800 block of East Delavan Avenue around 10 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators believe the fire started on the first floor.

A man in his late 60s was rescued from an upper floor. He was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Damage from the fire is estimated at more than $100,000.

The Red Cross assisted three people.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Buffalo fire officials say an EMS vehicle was involved in a crash while responding to the fire near Bailey Avenue and William Street. A fire official and a female occupant of the other vehicle suffered injuries.

The condition of the woman is unknown at this time, while the fire official has been treated and released.
