BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Customs and Border Protection officers have made what's believed to be the largest marijuana busts ever at the U.S.-Canada border.

Officers at the Peace Bridge seized 9,472 pounds of pot on June 25 hidden inside a commercial truck with Ontario plates. The driver - Prabjot Nagra, 26, of India - was attempting to cross into the United States.

The marijuana, which was in vacuum-sealed bags, was removed from 55 wooden pallet boxes.

Nagra is in federal custody awaiting a detention hearing on Thursday. If convicted, he faces 10 years to life in prison.
