BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Depew man pleaded guilty to one count of rape in the third degree and two counts of criminal impersonation in the second degree Wednesday.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office says 46-year-old Jason Lanning admitted to engaging in sexual intercourse with a female victim without her consent in the summer of 2016.

Lanning, a former New York State Trooper who was terminated in 2010, also admitted he falsely represented himself as a trooper to gain the trust and personal information of two other female victims in 2019.

Officials say Lanning faces a maximum of four years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced on January 21. He remains held without bail.
