BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — There have been multiple projects in the works in Buffalo's East Side that are creating a development buzz in the area. A few of those, which are just a few blocks from each other, are creating excitement over what is to come.
"There is going to be a total transformation of this area in about five years" Developer Brenda Calhoun said.
Calhoun is in charge of a new muli-use facility on Filmore that is going to create multiple apartments and store fronts.
Calhoun was given the chance to redevelop the site through a mentor-ship program that brought CSS Construction and Dave Pawlik in to back Calhoun.
"If you look around this area, the opportunities are endless." Pawlik said, "especially for someone like Brenda."
The new mixed-use facility is expected to finish in May of 2019.
