BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Police tell 7 Eyewitness News a downtown Buffalo building has been evacuated due to a gas leak.
The building located at 290 Main Street, in the area of Main Street and West Swan Street, and an adjoining building will be closed for the rest of the day.
A spokesperson for National Fuel says a private contractor was doing some work in the building and struck a natural gas service line around 10:30 a.m. Friday morning.
The spokesperson says crews were onsite immediately and the situation was safe within 40 minutes of the call being received.
