Drugs, guns, ammunition seized by Chautauqua County law enforcement

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY (WKBW) — Chautauqua County law enforcement members executed several search warrants in the Jamestown and Falconer areas and seized drugs, guns, ammunition and cash.

Officials say the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force (JMDTF) was assisted by the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team, Ellicott Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Dept. SWAT Team, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force (STRDTF) and Dunkirk Police Department.

According to officials, the following was seized during what was described as a more than year long investigation nicknamed "Operation Crazy Ivan."

  • Search warrant executed at 209 West Avenue in Falconer lead to the seizure of several pounds of marijuana, over $5,000 in cash and two loaded shotguns.
  • Search warrant executed at 2585 S. Work Street in Falconer lead to the seizure of 20 different firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, cocaine, several pounds of marijuana and some cash.
  • Several other search warrants were executed at locations in Jamestown - which led to the seizure of 37 firearms and a cache of ammunition believed to be more than 100,000 rounds in total.

Law enforcement says the investigation continues at this time and the charges for those involved in the operation will be provided in the future.
