HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Erie County Fair has been cancelled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Erie County Agricultural Society, which sponsors the fair, announced late this afternoon the "Best 12 Days of Summer" will not take place this year, marking only the second time since 1841 that no fair will be held. This year's fair was scheduled to take place August 12 - 23 at the Fairgrounds in Hamburg.

Anyone who purchased a 12-day pass can get a full refund by mailing the passes back to the fair office at 5600 McKinley Parkway, Hamburg, 14075. You need to include the name and address of the person requesting the refund. In-person refunds will not be accepted because the fair's main office is closed due to COVID-19.
