BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon announced that she will run for county executive.
I’m not a Republican or a Democrat. I'm an Independent legislator & a single working mom who knows what you’re going through. Our taxes are too high & our government spends too much.

But I’m going to fix that – & that’s why I’m running for Erie County Executive. pic.twitter.com/O65Nn4y3uD
Dixon will run against current County Executive Mark Poloncarz.
"Families in Erie County are tired of the pettiness and partisanship in government today – they just want to know how they’re going to put food on the table, afford their mortgage, and keep their family healthy," the county legislator said in a statement released to 7 Eyewitness News.
Dixon currently represents Hamburg, Blasedell, Lackawanna and South Buffalo.
