BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Erie County has issued a request for proposals from law firms to "provide legal services in connection with professional football stadium negotiations."

The request for proposal states:

"The County of Erie, New York (the "County") is currently seeking Proposal Statements from qualified law firms interested in serving as Special Counsel to the County. The selected firm shall provide a wide variety of legal services, including representing the County's interests in all aspects of negotiations, real estate transactions and complex contractual matters related to negotiations regarding a Professional Football Stadium. Proposers interested in providing legal representation services are invited to respond to this request."

The proposals are due March 27th and a selection will be made approximately May 15th.

The Buffalo Bills informed Erie County in late January the team would not exercise the one-time opt-out in the 2013 stadium agreement with county, meaning the team will remain in Orchard Park through the 2023 season.
