ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Eternal Flame Trail at Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park is now open, after it had been closed since Saturday.
The trail was closed following two separate incidents involving people getting hurt on the trail.
ATTENTION: The Eternal Flame Trail at Chestnut Ridge is now OPEN. Remember to practice proper hiking etiquette, and wear proper hiking shoes/ boots (not flip-flops/sandals/crocs). If the trail is overcrowded, please consider returning on a different day or time! pic.twitter.com/MU5IrMlOol

Erie County Parks officials advise that hikers have proper footwear when attending the trail.
