BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A foster parent is now charged with First Degree Manslaughter over the death of a little boy.
According to the Erie County District Attorney's 29-year-old Jermaine J. St. John is accused of reckless conduct that seriously injured a child in his care. The incident happened back on January 1, 2019 at a home on Newburgh Avenue in Buffalo. Investigators say the victim, 6-year-old Byron Clark, was unresponsive when he was taken to Oishei Children’s Hospital where he later died. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma.
St. John is scheduled to return to court on September 25. Bail was set at $100,000.
