HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) — Friendly's restaurants across Western New York have served their last cone-head sundaes.

Locations in Jamestown, Blasdell, Amherst and Williamsville shutdown over the weekend.

A note, left on certain locations read, "this location is now closed for business." It continues on to thank patrons for their business over the years, and encourages people to visit other Friendly's locations when they're traveling.

A company spokesperson tells 7 Eyewitness News that employees were informed personally about the closures. At this point it's unclear how many people are impacted by these closures.

The company's CEO, George Michael sent the following letter to franchisees.

The company also released the following list of all the restaurants that are now closed.
