Genesee County man pleads guilty to child sex crime

WARSAW, N.Y. (WKBW) — Wyoming County Officials announced Friday a LeRoy man pleaded guilty to course of sexual conduct against a child in the first degree.

Wyoming County District Attorney Donald O'Geen says 45-year-old Buddy D. Moore, Jr. admitted to engaging in two or more acts of sexual conduct with a child less than 13-years-old.

Officials say the incidents occurred between November 2003 and June 2011, the child was between the ages of four and 10 years old.

Moore, Jr. faces 15 years in prison and five years post-release supervision when he is sentenced December 16. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, he is currently being held without bail.

Warsaw police arrested Moore, Jr. in January 2020 for predatory sexual assault against a child.

“I want to commend the bravery of the victim in this case in coming forward. The strength of this victim allowed us to hold this man accountable for these evil crimes. In addition, I want to thank Sgt. Jason Linderman and Chief Pete Hoffmeister of the Warsaw Police Department for their investigation of these crimes,” said O’Geen.
