BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Get ready for the first annual Dyngus Day Dash.

The Dyngus Day Dash is a two person relay race over a one mile distance. Each runner will run half a mile.

Instead of using a traditional baton, racers will pass off a pussy willow to their partner.

Officials are encouraging racers to wear costumes.

It costs $25 to register. Every racer will get a t-shirt.

The race will take place on the Houghton Park track. The relay starts at 10 a.m. Monday.

All proceeds will benefit the Kaisertown Friends Association.
