Grandmother of 3-year-old Florida boy hoping to gain custody

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The grandmother of the 3-year-old boy found on a porch in Buffalo is hoping to gain custody of him soon.

Zenaida Colon says she has completed the necessary steps to gain custody of 3-year-old Noelvin, she is now waiting for the results of a background check and a home visit that was completed Thursday.

Colon says she will be back in Buffalo on Monday or Tuesday to visit Noelvin and request her custody hearing be moved up from the October 9th date.

Colon's son, Miguel Anthony Valentin-Colon, his girlfriend Nicole Merced Plaud and their friend Dhamyl Mirella Roman-Audiffred have all been missing since last Sunday. The three adults and toddler drove from Orlando, Florida to the Buffalo area.

Thursday, police were able to make a connection between their burned-out rental car that was foundwith two bodies inside about a mile away from where Noelvin was found.

Buffalo police released video that identifies persons of interest after the burned out vehicle was discovered. Police say it could take weeks to identify the remains.

About 4.4 pounds of cocaine was found in a hotel room near Buffalo, where the three adults from Florida were staying, according to The Buffalo News.
