BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Just days before the start of University at Buffalo's fall 2019 semester, a spokesperson tells 7 Eyewitness News a full internal review of Greek Life is now complete. Recommendations are expected to be released this week, the same week as move-in day.
This comes following the death of 18-year-old Sebastian Serafin-Bazan in April at off-campus fraternity house, Sigma Pi, after a potential hazing incident. Days later, Greek Life at the university was suspended pending a full internal review.
A spokesperson from UB released this statement:
"The UB committee reviewing Greek life at the university has completed its report, and the university anticipates releasing the report’s recommendations this week."
The Buffalo Police Department say the case is still under review.
