“The shops and restaurants are gearing up, and it kind of gives everyone a leg up for the holiday season," Eshbaugh said.
Businesses are expecting things to kick in to gear too. Shoppers filled a one night only stocking stuffer party at Ava Grace Fashions downtown. Jessica Gilbert, the store's owner, said Holiday Valley and the businesses downtown have a great partnership.
“We have a lot of people who are skiers who come down on weekends only and I know that I’m seeing a few faces I haven’t seen in a while so that’s exciting," Gilbert said.
Holiday Valley will be open from 8:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Saturday, and from 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Sunday. It will close during the week and expects to open for the rest of the season the weekend after Thanksgiving.
