FREDONIA, N.Y. (WKBW) — TV hosts Ty Pennington and Amanda Brinkman kicked things off in Downtown Fredonia Friday night, joined on stage by the seven local businesses selected for the show Small Business Revolution.
One of those businesses is Fresh and Fancy Flowers and Gifts.
"We couldn't believe that after 31 years in business somebody was gonna come in and help our business, re-do it, re-work it, with no strings attached," said Owner Charlotte Herlong.
Herlong said times for florists have been tough with the rise of online flower services. Brinkman said that's where the show comes in, bringing business back to downtown.
"If you don't support these businesses they're going to cease to exist, and our small towns personalities are going to start to dwindle," she said. "So it is so important to support the small businesses in your town."
Filming just got underway at the flower shop on Wednesday. Manager Michael Herlong said it's an exciting process.
"Wednesday morning a tidal wave of sound and video crew, as well as hosts, and directors, and producers, flooded the place," he said.
The mother son duo want to learn how to be more productive, and build up their own band. Pennington says he has high hopes for Fredonia's revolution.
"This is one of the most unique towns in the sense that there's such a variety of businesses that we're helping out," he said.
The show will be filming on and off in Fredonia until June, and will premiere in September.
