KENMORE, N.Y. (WKBW) — New York's impending teacher shortage will be the focus of a special summit being held on Thursday.
It's estimated that approximately one-third of New York teachers will be eligible for retirement over the next five years, leaving a gaping hole in schools statewide.
Thursday's summit will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. in the community room of Kenmore Middle School, 155 Delaware Road. The Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Union Free School District expects local and state officials, teachers, administrators and students to attend.
