BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The summer season is right around the corner, and the team at a local architectural gem is throwing the doors wide open.
The 2019 summer tour season kicks off Saturday, June 1 at Frank Lloyd Wright's Martin House. The museum will now be open seven days a week and feature a full schedule of public and specialty tours, as well as educational programs and special events.
Highlights include: Wright Nights self-guided tours for $10; Twilight Tours for special evening admission to the site; Photography Tours for exclusive access to first-floor interior photography of the Martin House (the only tour on which photography is permitted); and the ever popular All Wright | All Day an all-inclusive tour experience. New landscape and garden tours will also launch in July.
The Martin House is also offering education programs throughout the summer, including free Architect Adventures family programs, as well as Summer Camp sessions in July. A free community Family Fun Day will also be held on Saturday, June 8, from noon to 3 pm.
“Whether you’ve been meaning to take a tour or are a repeat visitor, now more than ever you must come see everything the Martin House has to offer,” said Mary Roberts, executive director of the National Historic Landmark and New York State Historic Site.
Special events this season include Bricks and Brews happening Friday, July 12.
Also, for the first time, the Martin House will be included in Garden Walk Buffalo on July 27 & 28 from 10 am to 4 pm.
