NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — If you walk into Niagara Falls State Park, you have to maneuver around a large construction project at the front. It's been going on since last spring, but the project is almost complete.
By Labor Day, Niagara Falls State Park will have a new elegant entrance.
"This is the grand arrival that this park deserves," spokeswoman for the park, Angela Berti, said.
The new stone entrance will feature a large engraving that says 'Niagara Falls State Park.' It's a development that Berti said has been a long time coming.
"Parks busy. Let's make it more welcoming. Let's make it more user-friendly. What we are going to have here is more seating, more ADA accessibility. All those things people expect when they come to a park."
The construction project will be completed and opened to the public in phases, but Berti said it will all be finished by Labor Day.
