UPDATE: 5/22 — Jamestown police continue to work with Pennsylvania State Police, authorities in South Carolina, and the FBI regarding this case.

A BOLO was recently issued by the North Charleston Police Department in South Carolina after officers responded to an address and found two victims who said they were from Pennsylvania and were kidnapped from their house and driven to North Charleston by Burham.

ORIGINAL: The Jamestown Police Department announced it was searching for 34-year-old Michael C. Burham.

According to police, Burham is a suspect and is wanted for questioning in connection to the homicide of 34-year-old Kala M. Hodgkin.

Crime Stoppers announced a reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of Burham.

“Even standing in front of her house knowing that he has yet to be caught," says Merry Williams, Founder of WNY Missing & Unidentified Persons." And as you can see I don’t see a patrolman anywhere around here offering this family to protect them until apprehension occurs.”

Flowers and candles have been placed in front of Kala’s home.

Family members can’t speak at the moment because they’re still grieving.

But the family tells 7 News reporter, Yoselin Person, Kala was a wonderful person who was very protective of her three children.

“Helping her kids get in the car. Bringing them to school every morning, picking them up," Williams says. "You know just very much the everyday mom all of us are in town and I feel like this kind of hit all of us mothers.”

Merry says Kala was a victim of domestic violence and on May 11 around 4:30 in the morning her life was taken.

“Speaking with family they told me today that there wasn’t really extra patrol in the area she wasn’t offered a safety plan and this situation was slowly escalating," she says. "Everybody knows and knew her that. She’s any of us and I think that’s what hit us close to home.”

Police said Burham is believed to be in the Jamestown or Warren, PA area and is believed to be armed and dangerous. If you see him, do not approach him and call 911.
