BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel is making a donation to the local organization PUSH Buffalo.

The host had actor Mark Ruffalo as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday night. Kimmel regularly makes a donation to a charity of his guest's choice. On Tuesday, Ruffalo said his choice was PUSH Buffalo.

Ruffalo founded an organization called The Solutions Project that brings clean and renewable energy to under-served areas. The organization also reallocates grant money to frontline communities. They have also committed to giving that grant money to organizations in those communities lead by women of color. PUSH Buffalo is lead by Rahwa Ghirmatzion, an African-American immigrant.

Ruffalo goes on to describe the work being done in Buffalo to transform from a polluted industrial city to one with solar energy projects, low-income housing and alternative food growth.

"It's one of the most exciting cities in the United States right now for their resilience," said Ruffalo.

He later discusses Buffalo's current movement against police violence, citing Martin Guginoand his work with PUSH Buffalo.

It is unclear how much money will be going to PUSH Buffalo through either Jimmy Kimmel or The Solutions Project.
