BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Buffalo Bills are on their bye week which is usually a time players use for rest and relaxation, but for Bills quarterback Josh Allen that meant making a surprise appearance at a local high school football game.
Allen is the local NFL ambassador for the New Era Cap brand and through that partnership he made a surprise appearance at the matchup between Burgard and Alden at Riverside High School Football Stadium Friday.
New Era supplied the two teams with Bills caps and Allen delivered pep talks and took photos with the teams. He also met with fans on the sideline and was an honorary captain for the coin toss.

Last night was great for our kids. A moment they will never forget. @JoshAllenQB became a part of @Buffalo_Schools Burgard Bulldog family. “We got a @BuffaloBills starting QB in here, a future hall of famer! Shoutout to my dogs in the dog pound!” #Billsmafia #OneBuffalo #GoBills pic.twitter.com/k8bvjUOU2n

The surprise appearance served as an opportunity to promote sportsmanship and highlight the importance of youth sports through a collaboration with New Era, the NFL and the Bills.
