BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will visit Buffalo this summer.
Ginsburg, who has served on the high court since 1993, will speak to students at the University at Buffalo School of Law during the first part of her visit on August 26. She will also serve as the special guest at a program for the Western New York legal community at Kleinhans Music Hall.
While at U.B., SUNY Chancellor Kristina Johnson will present Ginsburg with an honorary doctoral degree in law from the State University of New York.
A native of Brooklyn, Ginsburg graduated first in her class at both Cornell University and Columbia Law School.
At 86 years old, she is the oldest justice on the Supreme Court. Her rise through the ranks of the male-dominated legal field was the subject of the 2018 movie "On the Basis of Sex."
