LANCASTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — Lancaster High School's marching band is gearing up for its trip to Hawaii. In June, the team was invited to participate in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade and has been raising money every since to do so.

Over the past six months, the band has raised $96,000 to send 76 students, 18 chaperones, instruments and gear to Hawaii for the December 7 parade. Those going to Hawaii will head out out on Wednesday, December 4 and return Monday, December 9.

The December 7 parade marks the 78th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Lancaster High School is representing New York State and the veterans of USS New York at the parade. The band will perform a piece titled "Into the Yonder Blue," a tribute piece to the bravery of the US air forces.
