STRYKERSVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) — A local family is hoping social media can help them find their lost treasures.
Penny Huck says she accidentally threw out her son's safe when she was cleaning. Huck says she asked her husband to move a set of metal cabinets, and he put them by the road for the taking. It was later, Huck says her son realized his safe was inside the cabinets.
"I would hope the person who took the cabinets realizes what was inside and brings it back to us," she said.
Penny says she thought she emptied all, but realizes she may have become distracted and forgot to empty them all. She says she feels awful, and hopes someone brings the safe back.
"The contents are important to my son and I never want to hurt my kids," she said.
