BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Master Chong's World Class Taekwondo students have started going to their classes online. Students can join a class via Zoom where instructors are teaching their students from their own living rooms.

"Our students love Taekwondo, and we love our students," Executive Director Michael Mertens said.

He says since the online classes started this past week, more than 500 students joined in. He says they hope to have 40 live classes for this upcoming week.

Mertens says instructors were more than willing to videotape their classes teaching students the Korean form of Martial Arts.

"It's a form ultimately of not only self-defense training but self-improvement," Mertens said. "For young people, it develops their focus, their self-discipline, and their self-confidence.

Mertens says he hopes to open the classes up to the general public in the upcoming weeks.
