Morton's Steakhouse abruptly closes Buffalo location

Morton's The Steakhouse has abruptly closed its location at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Buffalo.

No notification or reason was given on the restaurant's local Facebook page. The last post was made New Year's Eve showcasing all diners could enjoy.

The restaurant first opened in October of 2017, replacing E.B. Green's Steakhouse.

Tim Whitlock, Chief Operating Officer of Morton’s The Steakhouse issued the following statement on Thursday. “Morton’s The Steakhouse, located at 2 Fountain Plaza, closed its doors on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. We are grateful for the support of the Buffalo community and encourage our guests to visit us at our Rochester location.”

John O’Connell, General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Buffalo issued this statement in response to the sudden closure. "We can confirm the closure of the third-party operated Morton's The Steakhouse restaurant located within Hyatt Regency Buffalo; the last night of service was December 31, 2019. We look forward to continuing to welcome guests and the Buffalo community to Atrium Bar & Bistro – and having another outstanding culinary experience introduced within the hotel in 2020. More details will be shared as they become available."
