BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A grieving family is trying to pick up the pieces after their loved one was gunned down in Buffalo during a street party early Saturday morning.
23-year-old Rayshionna Johnson of Cheektowaga was shot along with four other people on Jefferson and Glenwood.
“That was my first born. She was my best friend,” her mother said.
“We are all we got. I’m trying to be strong sister, I love you,” her sister Trinyiah Johnson said.
Johnson is a mother of three small children, a set of two year old twins (boy and girl) and a one year-old baby girl.
Family friend Lashelle Roberson says she will care for the children.
“Rayshionna asked me to take her kids and that’s what I intend to do,” she said.
Roberson says she is now in the process of legally gaining custody.
“I never in a million years thought this would happen,” she said.
Roberson is a member of the Buffalo FATHERS anti-violence group. Now, she needs the communities help as she adopts three small children.
They’re asking for any clothing and donations for the babies. The twins wear between a 2T and 3T. The baby girl wears 12-18mo size.
“I just hope our community will be able to come together and show love for these young babies who are now left without a mother,” she said.
Donations are being accepted at the John B. Wiley Stadium Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m, 1100 Jefferson Ave. Buffalo.
Buffalo Police are still looking for the person responsible for the shooting. If you have any information, call the confidential tipline at 716-847-2255.
