BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Nardin Academy is going back on the policy they announced last week. The announced dress code required that skirts be at or below the knee. They said this length best represented professionalism.

Many students disagreed and called for change. They launched a change.org petition, which earned over 2,000 signatures, more than five times their student body.

Two students who began the petition, Ava Dancy and Georgia Boyd, are appreciative the school listened to their concerns.

"It feels awesome and I'm thankful to Nardin for listening to our concerns and actually changing it. It feels really good to know they are listening," Boyd said.

Dancy added, "Especially because this has happened in the past it feels good ot not just sit there and complain about it and that we actually something and something that worked."

The school listened. A letter was sent out to families announcing a new code that allows skirts to be up to three inches above the knee.

The initial change was made because the school said students were not following the dress code. This coming school year, if students don't comply, they will be asked to bring their outfit within the requirements.
