BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A new festival kicked off this weekend in Buffalo's Old First Ward neighborhood.

The first-ever Old First Ward Arts and Heritage Festival took place on Republic Street.

It featured three different sections: a vendor village with all kinds of shopping opportunities, art and music workshops, and a stage featuring several live bands.

"I think it's really important that art is accessible to everyone," said event coordinator Sara Heidinger. "The workshops are my favorite part of today because you can pop in and try things you've never tried before or expand on some passions you have."

This festival is put on by the Old First Ward Community Center.
