BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — New York State police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that seriously injured a state trooper early Saturday morning.
According to police, the trooper was on the side of the I-190 north in Buffalo investigating a crash around 5:30 a.m. and waiting for a tow for a Budget rental truck when the trooper's patrol car was struck from behind by a Chevrolet Tahoe.
NYSP says the crash caused the patrol car to be pushed into the rental truck.
The trooper suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to ECMC for treatment. The two occupants of the Chevrolet Tahoe were transported to ECMC for minor injuries.
Police did not announce any charges that were filed and said the names are being withheld as the investigation continues.
