NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — Niagara Falls police say two men were shot on Highland Avenue early Saturday morning.

A NFPD officer was patrolling the area near the 3700 block of Highland Avenue just before 3 a.m. when he heard multiple gun shots.

Two men were shot and transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and then were later transported to ECMC, according to police.

The men, a 32-year-old man from Niagara Falls and another man who police say appears to be from outside the city, are in serious but stable condition.

Police say they found blood and over 20 shell casings and a parked vehicle that was struck by gunfire at the scene.

According to police, one of the vehicles used to transport a victim to NFMMC was also struck by gunfire.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
