BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The movies are a common spot for a date night. So, after enough dates, the North Park Theatre's marquee in North Buffalo offers a special way to bring things full circle.
"When we passed the marquee, went underneath it, as soon as we passed it I had her turn around and look, and the message was up on the marquee for her," James Fleming said.
Fleming coordinated with the North Park Theatre to propose to his girlfriend, Brittany. The newly engaged couple lives in the area. Even though the theater itself has been closed since March, the messages are still a regular occurrence.
"Weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays, and graduations, and of course as we've gotten closer to summer, more of those messages have taken place," program director Ray Barker said. "We've done messages for very special occasions since 2014 when the theater reopened."
Even beyond its reopening date, which is tentatively scheduled for July 10th, the marquee will still be available for custom messages. You can schedule one by emailing info@northparktheatre.org.
