KENMORE, N.Y. WKBW — One person was taken the hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in the Town of Tonawanda. The fire destroyed a unit and damaged four others on the top floor of 55 Ralston Avenue, known as the Westchester Park Apartments.

The fire broke out around 5:30 Saturday night. The Kenmore Fire Department was first on scene and quickly called for back up.
Shortly after they arrived, firefighters were able to contain the blaze.
A spokesperson with the Red Cross of Western and Central New York says they are assisting four tenants.
