ORLEANS COUNTY, N.Y. (WKBW) — Officials from Orleans and Niagara counties will hold a Lake Ontario Preparedness Update Monday.
This is meant to discuss water levels, preparedness activities, and address concerns from both emergency management and government officials.
This comes after federal agencies also discussed plans to address the rising water levels of Lake Ontario by creating the Lake Ontario Lakewide Action and Management Plan. The plan was developed by the Lake Ontario Partnership, led by EPA and Environment and Climate Change Canada, to address the threats to the lake.
The Lake Ontario Preparedness Update will take place 12:30pm at Golden Hill State Park in Barker.
